Origami Galore!

One of the fabulous visual artists displaying her work at Stillwater Artspalooza is Eva Szillery.  Eva obtained her PhD in Mathematics at the prestigious Eotvos Lorand University and it is there that she started folding modular origami to help enrich the teaching of mathematics for students.
Eva is now the Maine State Director of the American Mathematics Competitions, the founder of the Maine Junior Engineering Technical Society(MJETS), the Maine Mathematics Science and Engineering Talent Search(MMSETS) and the Maine Origami Society.  She is the 2005 recipient of the University of Maine Educator Recognition Award for programming Excellence of the MMSETS and MJETS Programs. Szillery’s modular origami work has been exhibited in Lewiston, Portland, Bangor, Orono, Bath, Boothbay Harbor, Brunswick, and Presque Isle.   Her fascinating art will be on display for Stillwater Artsapalooza at Fiberphilia from 6-10p.m.  Be sure to check out this intriguing artist!

We are also lucky that Molly Webster has found time in her busy, busy schedule to manage to fit in a showing at Stillwater Artsapalooza!  Molly is a local vocal talent originally from Patten, Maine.  She attended the University of Maine and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and Vocal Performance and a Master’s degree in Choral Conducting. She currently owns a private voice studio in the Bangor area where she teaches all styles of music.  She is incredibly excited to be a part of the first annual Stillwater Artsapalooza and will be performing varied works from Gershwin to Adele to The Decemberists. She is also excited to showcase one of her students from Veazie, who will be singing a Leonard Cohen tune.  Also joining her for a few songs will be Mr. Pat Sylvia, a graduate of UMaine in Guitar Performance.  This promises to be an excellent display of incredibly talent and we are grateful to have these artist performing at The Roost from 7-7:40p.m. on Saturday, June 25.  To learn more about Molly Webster please visit  http://mollysvoicestudio.com/
